Valentines Berry Spinach Smoothie
Even though I don't celebrate, or believe in, Valentines Day, I still have been making red foods and treats in honor of the holiday. Here's and easy and festive way to get my veggies, fruits and omega 3's (much needed for RA and Fibro inflammation)...
my Valentines Berry Spinach Smoothie.
Put the following in the blender:
small handful fresh spinach leaves
frozen mixed berries
frozen mango
1 fresh banana
spoonful chia seeds
strawberry yogurt (or any flavor)
water
ice
This is what it looks like with chia seeds added...they look like little poppy seeds. They're so full of omega 3's, they're wonderful!
Blend it all up and voila!
So sweet and yummy! Can't tell there's spinach in there at all! Or seeds! Just sweet fruit and ice mmmmm.
Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
❤ being healthy! ❤

Healthy, Easy Banana Chocolate Treat
Tonight I was hungry wanting a snack. Looking around my kitchen I noticed healthy and unhealthy (not mine) foods. I almost grabbed a cookie, since I just wanted a quick snack. Instead, I did another scan of foods, and sitting right there were a bunch a bananas. Hooray! This gave me an idea! It was soo easy, and yummy, and healthy!!
Healthy, Easy Banana Chocolate Treat
1 banana
dark chocolate chips (about a small palm full)
cinnamon (about 1 teaspoon)
walnuts - optional (a few)
Take the banana and break in half (or not). I broke mine in half so it could fit in my dish. Cut banana open lengthwise.
Add about a 1/2 cup (or small palm full) of chocolate chips. I prefer Hersheys Special Dark Mini Chocolate Chips. You know, dark chocolate is the good kind of chocolate with antioxidants, so add a few more if you want!
Sprinkle some cinnamon on top, about 1/2 teaspoon. I just sprinkled it on till it looked good to me.
Pop in the microwave for about 30 seconds. It should come out with the chocolate melted and banana soft and warm.
I added walnut pieces to mine, as I prefer them and it made it more like a banana split sundae! Yum!
Healthy and very easy dessert to make anytime! Now put that cookie down and go make this instead! Your butt will thank me later ;) Nom Nom Nom!
